Lipodox is considered the first generic nanodrug approved in the US and it is used to ovarian cancer. Sun Pharma Global FZE received FDA approval in one year (1/3 the time) which is unusual in the industry and a fascinating story.

Graphene timeline

Knight Lab has posted a timeline of graphene product development beginning in 2015 with printable electronic tags, and ending in 2017 with graphene electronics. The image below is of an artificial retna from Technische Universität München which is expected in 2021.

Genetics and Genomics certificate

Stanford is offering a new certificate in Genetics and Genomics now. Students must complete two core courses and four elective courses which are offered online and are self paced. The core courses include:
  • Fundamentals of Genetics: The Genetics You Need to Know (XGEN101)
  • Genomics and the Other Omics: The Comprehensive Essentials (XGEN102)
Only one elective courses is available now:
  • Principles and Practices of Gene Therapy (XGEN201)
New elective courses should be available soon on the following topics:
  • Agricultural biotechnology
  • Cancer genomics
  • Stem cells
  • Personalized genomics
  • Pharmagenomics
  • Synthetic biology
The total estimate cost for the six courses is very reasonable too.
